And she didn't want to harm the students. o 3o; So she already graduated a very long time ago, and then left hogwarts after a few years of being their professor and head of slytherin. But otherwise, that sounds like a good idea...just expect a few dead owls every once in a while, she follows instinct sometimes. I'm guessing that the relationship started fading when she started attacking the owls, or she simply stopped sending letters back, after one very hurtful letter that told Roxanne, to put it lightly, 'Fuck off, I don't want to talk to you anymore.' Or something like that. Just let me know, kay?
