"I was born on the may the fourteenth, hmm about twenty five years ago, a wonderful spring day too would you look at that? I was born in a pretty busy time in my parents' lives, mum was a hot-shot moving up in the department of magical law enforcement and dad was helping uncle Harry turn the ministry upside down or whatever as aurors (I have a feeling, a significant portion of the stories I was told before bedtime were a little exaggerated). So I spent a lot of time, up until about the age of six or seven being shuffled around my relatives along with my brother Hugo who was born two years after me. Not that we didn't love every minute of it, staying with aunt Ginny was always fun (she spoilt us rotten, and we never told mum about it) as was staying with both our grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Weasley and our dentist grandparents, the Grangers. We got our fair share of both the wizarding and muggle world and the fact that we lived in Godric's Hollow meant everyone was practically a stone's throw away.
I guess I was always a bright curious kid, my nose either deep inside the newest book I’d been given or out with Hugo exploring the world and getting covered in mud. Whenever I came home from these explorations, I always had this sheepish expression on my face. I’ve always gotten along better with the boys (not that I was close with my girl cousins, I simply got along better with my male ones) and surprisingly I think my dad was more surprised about it than mum was, he did attempt at one point to err 'feminize' me until mum saw me in a frock that looked like it had been put on backwards and just laughed in his face. Then I believe she lectured him with something along the lines of, 'I used to hang out with you and Harry all the time, now would you rather she was a friend to all the boys or flirting herself silly around them?’ Yeah, it pretty much did shut him up, at least for the next couple of years.
I think I showed signs of magic at around eight? I’m not exactly sure when it was but I do remember levitating a couple of things and things smashing when me and Hugo got into a rare spat, I reckon mum realized then and there (after they came back home from work to see three vases in pieces) that my magical ability then was governed mainly by my emotions. It was a good and a bad thing I suppose, it showed I had potential in wandless magic but it also meant that I was liable to becoming out of control. I got accepted into Hogwarts at eleven, and it was probably the only shopping trip I have ever truly enjoyed, looking for all my school supplies, I went with Albus and I remember both of us almost destroying Ollivanders looking for a wand (it literally took about two hours to find the right ones for the respective owners).
My first year? I suppose it was like everyone else's first year, kind of a journey of self-discovery and all (though I’m not sure I completely know myself yet) and yeah, sort of awkward but fun at the same time. It helped that I knew a lot of fellow students before I went there, and me and Fred were thankfully sorted into the same house. I was pretty scared when the hat called 'Gryffindor' out (after, yes like my wand deliberating for what seemed like two hours) that I would be alone 'cause everyone else would be sorted into Gryffindor. I got along well with my housemates though, I think we all had the same inner competitive vibe and all- my dad had told me to beat Scorpius malfoy in every test, and yeah I did it. I didn't join the quidditch team like he'd hoped, so although I would never admit it, I really didn't want to disappoint him again. I knew mum was a less prejudiced towards the Malfoys but dad was probably never going to totally let it go, not to mention almost everyone else in the family shared the same view, and it was mainly on and off the quidditch pitch. I didn't play, and I rooted for both ravenclaw and Gryffindor (seeing as the team was practically made up entirely of weasleys and potters).
blabla, rest coming soon"

Bonjour, I'm Melissa, though I usually go by Mel. I'm a female (as though it isn't obvious, right?), and I live on the east coast of Canada. In other words, I'm in the Eastern Standard timezone, meaning I have that (-5) thing to indicate exactly what time it is. For now I've only got Rose, but that might change, I'll see. My roleplaying level is....advanced intermediate I'd say. I usually always post more than 500 words, 400 on a bad day. I can go up to over a thousand if I have the right muse and an awesome plot going on in the thread. As for random facts.....err, well I'm usually pretty random when I wanna be, and I love hockey. Yeah, typical canadienehright? But I'm also in my school's concert band - alto saxophones ftw (:
