"My name is Matthew Lune' Cromwell, and I am a sixteen year old Hufflepuff who's in his sixth year at Hogwarts School of Withcraftand Wizardry. I am a student there, though people often mistake me for Jesse McCartney. My blood status? I guess you can say that it's tainted, because my father is a halfblood wizard and my mother is a pureblood mermaid. I know, it's weird right? You think hearing about it is weird, imagine being me."

"Oh, the things I like? Nobody has ever asked me that before! I like swimming with the dolphins and killer whales, I like singing, exploring sunken ships, collecting sea shells, and leaping high over the waves. It's almost like I can fly. I also like walking on land, being able to breath on land and under water, the feel of dirt between my toes, when I actually have toes, eating all sorts of food, reading books, learning magic spells, shopping in malls, going to the movies, and being able to be fully mermaid or human in appearance thanks to the magical necklace my mother, the queen of Oceaniana gave me.

I really hate eating any sort of fish. Especially on land, because I never know if the fish I'm eating was a friend of mine or not. I don't really like flying on broomsticks either, sitting on them hurts! I'd rather stay in the sea than fly through the sky. Let's see, I don't like feeling as if I'm crazy, being told what to do, people shouting at me, the smell of animal dung, sharks, giant squids, jellyfish, or eating something called jelly beans. I've tried a few and they were horrible. I swear, somebody is trying to make me sick, feeding me those Bertie Botts Jelly Beans things.

My negative traits? Well, I am a bit free spirited, I don't like to sit in one place for too long, but I'm working on that. I also have a bit of a problem with giving someone or something my full attention. I need multiple things to do so I can concentrate, I can never focus on one thing. I am very outspoken, and have interrupted a class or lesson a few times in the past. When something bores me, I tend to gaze off into space and day dream, which teachers don't seem to like, and I don't really like cats much. Cats eat fish, and let's face it, being half mermaid, I'm pro-fish and anti-cat.

My positive traits? Well, I'm honest, playful, trustworthy, I like to have fun, and I'm good at making people laugh. Wait, didn't you say you wanted five? Oh! Wait, I've got another one! I'm good at cheering people up! That makes five, right?

Goals? Does graduating, finding a boyfriend, and one day ruling Oceaniana count? Or one day being able to choose whether I live on land or in the sea? If I can't have both?

My two fears? Sharks and fisherman. Simple as that. Sharks would love to eat me if they could catch me, and fisherman would sell me for a profit.

My strengths? Well, I'm fair to everyone, I don't tend to judge a person until I get to know them, and I'm an expert on everything ocean related."

"Okay, this is simple enough. Because I'm half mermaid, I was raised on land by my biological father and his muggleborn wife because I looked human as a child. My father being a pureblood wizard and my mother being a pureblood mermaid, I could've been born with fins or feet. I was born with feet. Recently though, I became sixteen. Which means I've come of age in the mermaid world and my mermaid side has resurfaced. Because it has resurfaced, my hair has streaks of bright pink in it. When a half mermaid child of a human turns sixteen, their hair becomes different colored like mine, it can also grow longer, sometimes it does both. Not only that, but they can breathe underwater when they come of age. Becoming equal parts mermaid and human. I would be human all the time if I hadn't met my mother and she hadn't given me the enchanted necklace that allows me to control if I'm human, or if I'm a merman. I merely have to wish on it. I grew up in Scottland, on the coast by the sea.

At Hogwarts, I'm a Hufflepuff sixth year. I'm pretty good at Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Herbology is okay, but I hate Potions class. It just never seems to sink in. Also, don't tell anyone, but I usually skip History of Magic class to go swimming. You see, I know something others don't. Deep down in the Black Lake at Hogwarts, there is a tunnel for the merpeople. The tunnel leads from the lake, under Hogsmeade,and through the mountains out into the sea. That's how the ship from Durmstrang came to Hogwarts all those years ago when Harry Potter himself was at school. They used that tunnel. Don't tell anyone that, though. It'll be out little secret."
