Once upon a time you couldn’t get closer than Molly and Lucy Weasley. Only one year apart and the two free-spirited daughters of Percy and Audrey Weasley, the girls spent each and every moment together until time came for Moll to head to Hogwarts. Up until then people were convinced they were actually twins, only able to be told apart by the fact Lucy had lighter hair than her sister (both having inherited the Weasley red, but with Lucy’s with more of her mother’s blonde through it) and Molly was more prone to getting so caught up in her thoughts that she’d walk into walls. But with easy smiles and a knack for getting their father riled up, the pair were inseparable. Then Molly headed to Hogwarts, followed her father into Gryffindor, and became friends with her fellow students. Meanwhile Lucy stayed at home enduring one more year of Muggle schooling. It was this year, without her sister, that would change Lucy forever. Without her sister’s (somewhat annoying) guidance, Lucy fell in with the ‘cool’ kids at school. Her looks and wit made her rise through the ranks quickly and with popularity came power, and with power the desire for more. By the time Lucy left her final year at Muggle school she was well and truly set for power – a trait that had been inherited from her father but hadn’t blossomed until now. When sorting came and Lucy traipsed into the Hogwarts main hall, her head held high and ignoring the enthusiastic wave of her sister, Lucy was already destined for different pastures to Molly. She was to become the Slytherin Weasley…

Dear diary,[/blockquote]
It was like a moment from a nightmare, one that had started out so well. I’d been sitting there, listening as Freddie Finnigan spoke rather enthusiastically (he talks with his hands, I’m not sure if he’s aware of this fact) about the new Wizards Chess pieces he got this year (it won’t be long until they’re smashed to pieces I’m sure) when the door opened and in the new kids walked. Of course I didn’t see Lucy at first, funny how my eyes kinda brushed over her, but then I spotted her chatting to our cousin Roxanne (dad had insisted they travel together since they were both being sorted this year. I sat with Albie on the train. He’s strange sometimes but awesome) and I waved. I think I pulled a muscle doing it too, but she didn’t wave back. Too caught up I imagined. Then the Sorting Hat spoke and we were underway. It felt like forever before they finally got to ‘W’ and then the professor said it…
“Weasley, Lucy”
I grinned and tried not to make too much noise, just awaiting that expected ‘Gryffindor’. Somehow I knew my little sis was coming to join me. It was that or mum’s old house of Ravenclaw. Lucy’s so much smarter than me. But the hat seemed to take forever, mulling over what I was sure was the simplest answer ever. I was screaming at it in my head ‘Gryffindor, Gryffindor, just say Gryffindor!’. Then, finally, the brim rippled wide and it spoke that awful, awful word…
“SLYTHERIN!”

The years went on and while Molly soon came to accept her sister as a Slytherin (as Albus Potter told her, some good people came from Slytherin, like Severus Snape), prying her back from the dank, dark power of the house was a different matter altogether. Lucy shone like a diamond in that house, demanding attention and striking people down with the simplest witty remark. Quick of tongue, pure of blood and stunningly pretty Lucy flourished. And each day she became more and more Slytherin’s queen bee, the further away she grew from her sister…[/blockquote]
Molly’s final year came and went and soon Molly was off into the real world, taking up a job at Flourish and Blotts before moving onto Madam Malkin’s Robes. Meanwhile Lucy started her final year where her brains would ensure her a job far better than Molly’s dead-ended ones. But Molly was happy for her sister… until the day Molly caught her sister taking money from their father. It was the Christmas break and while Lucy assured her sister the money was for presents, these gifts never eventuated and Molly approached her sister. When it was revealed the money was for a tutor (Lucy was determined to pass and get high enough grades for a Ministry job, no matter the cost), Molly apologized, but the seeds of distrust were planted. The sisters were never the same again.
Until now they have gone about their business, avoidance being one of their key skills, but that’s easier said than done now that Lucy is dating the one person Molly hates most. Christopher (you can change his name, it’s just for the plotting) was Molly’s tormentor at Hogwarts. In her year and most of her classes, this ex-Slytherin was a player and a prick, his favourite past-times including just generally giving the airy-fairy and quiet Gryffindor Molly a hard time. The girls of Slytherin house thought him fantastic, Lucy amongst them, but she could never really get the nerve up to talk to him. Underneath all that bitchy there’s still a quiet little Weasley. Until the day she ran into him at Molly’s workplace Madam Malkin’s Robes. Why there? Well Lucy was dropping in to tell Molly she was required to attend dinner with their parents the next evening (since she hadn’t been answering her owls) and Christopher was there because the well-off and arrogant ex-Slytherin had just purchased the place. Yes, to Molly’s absolute chagrin, her tormentor was her new boss. And now as Molly watched on Lucy and Christopher flirted shamelessly, the flirting eventually leading to he asking the little Weasley out. She was thrilled. Molly was even more horrified. It was like every single nightmare come true…
So today’s environment is this:
* Christopher and Lucy continue to date, both rather happy with the arrangement
* Molly’s job is on the line due to ‘staff cut backs’ by the new boss and it now seems likely she’s only stayed so far because Christopher really doesn’t want to get Audrey and Percy offside
* Molly’s is determined to get Christopher out of the picture, no matter how, and this sweet little Gryffindor may just sell her soul to the devil to get it. So information about another young woman in Christopher’s life might just be the thing she needs…
Is Christopher using Lucy or is this genuine?
Will the sisters’ war ever end?
Who is this other woman and what part will she play in all this mess?
And how many people will be hurt at the end of all this?
