- - - - - - - - - - - - The sky was still dark, as the moon hung low. Yet something about the sky gave the misleading appearance that it would be a warm night. It wasn’t the moment one stepped outside a cold wind hit the skin. It was autumn. The days were beginning to become crisper, as the leaves changed colours and started to fall of their summer homes. It was in this early morning weather that a figured emerged from a London flat. The petite female figure belonged, to one Roxanne Weasley.
Roxanne pulled her jacket closer to her body as she made her way down the street. She was happy that she had brought gloves with her. It was beginning to get cold, something that did not please Roxanne. She had never been fond of the cold weather or winter. It made her want to permanently curl up into a ball and hibernate. Of course this was not possible. She did have to work after all.
Roxanne made her way to the end of the street and looked both ways, unsure of which way to go. She didn’t have a destination in mind. This was simply a morning ritual of hers. She liked to wake up before sunrise and take a long walk. The streets were usually empty then and it gave her time to think and reflect. It was also good exercise. She had started to do this in her forth year at Hogwarts. Of course back then there weren’t many places she could go, other than on weekend morning, when she sometimes snuck out of the castle and strolled around Hogsmeade. Her fellow students often thought she was insane, but it was simply her way. Maybe she was able to do it, because she wasn’t big on parties. That wasn’t to say she never went, but she much preferred to stay at home and read or just go out with a few friends. Back then she’d usually just make her way around the grounds and would find herself watching the sunrise over the lake. It was a beautiful scene and one she found quite calming.
Choosing to go right, Roxanne continued her morning stroll. A smile was present on her face. She felt completely at ease in muggle london. She had woken up half and hour ago, gotten dressed, made herself coffee and apparated into muggle London, where she was now roaming the streets clutching her coffee.
That was one thing you would never see Roxanne without in the morning: coffee. The girl was addicted to the rich, dark drink. She had to have at least one cup in the morning and another one during the day. Roxanne was not one to be reckoned with before her morning cup of coffee. She was a terrible person without her morning cup of coffee; she’d be grumpy and snappy. Her family all knew to avoid her before she had her coffee, for without it, it was very likely that she would bite their head off at the simplest thing. In other words without coffee in her system, Roxanne’s temper was ten times worst then it normally was.
Roxanne took a sip of her coffee, and savored the taste the liquid running down her throat. It was going to be a good day. She could just feel it. Roxanne felt at home almost as she wandered the streets, she smiled as she roamed under a street light that was still illuminated due to the dark morning. Roxanne clutched her coffee mug with both hands as she hummed a tune under her breath. She was completely lost in her own thoughts, unaware of her surroundings. Her feet were leading the way; she was traveling on pure instinct now, unaware of where she was going or who was around her.

Post by JAMES SIRIUS POTTER on May 4, 2010 20:03:55 GMT
It was early morning in London and James still had not been asleep. It may have been customary for professors at Hogwarts School to spend the majority of their time on the campus grounds, but that simply wasn't the sort of person that James was. He was neither a head of house or the headmaster and so he was not going to hang around a bunch of underage children who thought more of themselves than they should. It was the one problem with teaching. You didn't simply get to teach robots, or students who would remain silent and not interrupt you. No, there were students who were as big of, if not more of a pain in the ass as he was when he had been in school. Still, knowing that one day they would grow out of their immaturity and look back upon their time at the school with a smile was something that made James happy. How did he know they would do that? Simple. Because he often reminisced about those days himself. He was both thankful they were over, and missed them now that they were gone.
Yawning, James stretched his arms high over his head and then rubbed his eyes. In his hand was his own cup of coffee, bought from the very same coffee shop that his own cousin had entered into a moment earlier without him noticing. At the time he'd been resting against the wall of a building about a hundred feet down the street and had had his eyes closed. Looking around, James felt a bit disgruntled about the chill that had crept into the air recently. Winter was not his favorite season. In fact, it was the farthest thing from it. The snow and cold did nothing for his usually cheery mood, though it had more to do with the fact that most people would choose to stay bundled up inside instead of going out to do something fun.
Fun. That was what James liked to center his life around. Teaching that the school was something he used to fill the space in between periods of doing things that he would consider fun and entertaining. It also eased his need to almost always be around people.
Down the street, as Roxanne exited the shop, his eyes caught her movement. It didn't take him long to recognize the figure and the hair of a girl he had known the majority of his life. Though they were related by blood, James felt a deeper connection to Roxanne than he did towards some of his other cousins. She, much like Lily, had always managed to keep him in check when his ego got a bit to big or he started showing off a bit to much. Though she irritated him at times she was also one of his closest friends and one that he adored quite alot.
His legs took him faster than his mind realized and soon enough he had caught up to the girl, a sleepy grin on his face as he emerged at her side. "Hey Roxie!" In an almost brotherly fashion James through his arm around her neck and pulled her closer to him in a quick hug. "What are you doing out so early? Trying to defy the general knowledge that you hate getting out of bed early? Or were you like me last night? Partying to hard." A soft chortle left him as he verbally poked and prodded his cousin.
"I'm not going to be hearing any rumors about someones conquest of you am I?" For a moment his facial expression held a bit of a serious edge to it as they continued to walk side by side. "Guys do that, you know? Well I do anyway. But thats just because I know you all love to hear about who I happened to bag the night before." Intentionally James was being more open about the intimate side of his life, trying to get a reaction out of his friend and cousin. Smugly, James cast her a look that was accompanied by a wink a moment before he brought his own cup of coffee up to his lips and took another sip, feeling the hot liquid burn comfortably the entire way down to his stomach.

- - - - - - - - - - - - Roxanne felt her body prepare to fight. She had been so lost in her own thoughts she hadn’t noticed her cousin leaning up on the wall. It shouldn’t have surprised her that one of her cousins was around. With a family the size of the Weasleys there really were very few places one could go in London without running into one. It was basically a miracle if one didn’t find a Weasley in the streets. Sure James was officially a Potter, but he had Weasley blood in him, and well Uncle Harry was pretty much a brother to her father and her uncles, and a on to her grandparents. So Roxanne simply clumped the Potters in with the Weasleys.
She was about to purposely spill her coffee on him, when she recognized the voice. Roxanne was quite thankful it was James, and not some crazy off the street, not only because it meant she didn’t have to protect herself, mainly because it meant she could keep her coffee. The girls love for coffee was a bit ridiculous, but it was what helped her earn a living in the end, so it couldn’t be that bad of a thing now could it?
Roxanne smiled up at her cousin, and hugged him with one arm; the other one was after all clutching her cup of coffee. “Hey there James,” she said happily. James was like a second older brother to her, the two had grown up together, with Fred and James being the same age they had spent quite a bit of time together, and Roxanne being the annoying little thing she was, she had spent hours tagging along. It wasn’t that there was no one else to play with, there was she had quite a few other cousins, some were even her age, but she preferred tagging along with Fred or James. “Oh yea, I went to a crazy rager last night you know the one at the Woods place” Roxanne said sarcastically, they both knew she wasn’t a party type, other than the Weasley get togethers she hated being in big crowds, and she hated the wood boy even more. “Nah. You know me; I’m always up this early. But the real question is what is the Hogwarts professor doing out all night? I bet you have a wicked hangover right now, and kids to teach in a few hours” she said with an evil little grin. As much as Roxanne loved her cousin, she could help but get a sick little pleasure in imagining a hung-over James, trying to teach a rowdy bunch of children how to transfigure a tortoise to a kettle.
Roxanne rolled her eyes at his mention of him hearing about a conquest; she had a funny feeling that if a guy ever did brag about that James would have his wand out in a flash. She didn’t dignify his question with an answer; they both knew it was a no. That simply wasn’t her style. Roxanne had dated a few guys here and there, but recently she simply didn’t have time. Every moment of hers went into her store. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe in love for she did, she thought it was one of the most important things in the world; she simply didn’t have time to waste at the moment trying to find love. Even if she did, it wouldn’t matter much, she didn’t believe that love was for everyone, it was onl y the lucky people who found it. Who knew if she would be one of the lucky ones or not, but for now, she had bigger fish to fry then finding herself a husband.
Roxanne sniggered as James informed her that guys liked to share their conquest. It wasn’t news to her, with the amount of times she spent with James, nothing much he said surprised her anymore. “You know James, there are times I ‘m surprised there aren’t a ton of mini potters running around, I swear I think you party more than your students do” she told him mockingly. She knew her cousin was responsible. He may like his fun, but when the time came to be serious he could manage just fine. “So who’s party was it last night?” she asked his curiously. Although she didn’t like attending parties she loved to hear about them. There was always some sort of drama that occurred. Something that would make her laugh.
